Community groups can now apply for a share of $150,000 as part of Project Cornerstone.

The Cornerstone Credit Union’s annual community investment program has provided funding to 50 projects across the eastern part of the province, and to celebrate that milestone, Cornerstone is adding $50,000 to Project Cornerstone this year.

Cornerstone CEO Doug Jones said they are proud of the projects they have supported through the program, and they wanted to make a bigger impact in 2025.

“We hope the increased amount encourages more community groups to apply for the funding they need.”

Last year, the program distributed $100,000 to projects in Tisdale, Indian Head, Montmartre, and Wolseley. Project Cornerstone has distributed $651,000 worth of capital project funding since its inception.

“Eligible community groups can apply to support capital projects or programs focused on youth and education or community and economic development,” a Cornerstone news release stated. “Project Cornerstone funding is intended to build, expand, and upgrade facilities or develop programs that improve the quality of life in our local communities.”

Project Cornerstone applications are now open for 2025, and you can access the online form on Cornerstone’s website. Applications are open through Aug. 15, and recipients will be announced in October.

Cornerstone Credit Union serves local communities including Rose Valley, Tisdale, and Wynyard.
