Melfort Grad 2025

Jun 27, 2025 | 4:23 PM

Melfort & Unit Comprehensive Collegiate (MUCC) held their 2025 graduation ceremony on Friday, celebrating the end of high school.

In total, 87 Grade 12 students graduated as part of the class of 2025.

“This is a group of exceptional young people with a lot of bright futures, and they’ve had some tremendous accomplishments this year. I look forward to seeing where their future is going to take them,” said MUCC Principal David Painchaud.

“My message in my address to them was to think about what kind of leader they can be. You don’t have to go out and be a CEO or the biggest YouTuber out there, but in your community that you might move on to, what kind of qualities are you going to display? I gave some examples of what I thought would be a good leader, but of course, that’s up to them, so that was my challenge to them today.”

Also part of the graduation ceremony were three Wall of Fame Inductees.

Those three inductees were Adam Bourassa, Ph.D., Linda Chelico, Ph.D., and Dr. Andrea Lavoie.

The three inductees, obviously, we’re thankful to be recognized, and I think they offer a tremendous amount of inspiration for our grads. Having that as part of our graduation ceremony is a great way to not only inspire our current graduates, but also recognize the accomplishments of our past,” Painchaud added.

Some of the current graduates were awarded with scholarships, as $50,000 worth of bursaries were doled out.

Forty-five scholarships and bursaries were given out to make up the $50,000.

“A huge thank you to those who donate to our scholarship group, obviously, it comes from our community and extends beyond that, but it sure does set our graduates up in a positive way as they move forward into whatever they choose to go to next,” concluded Painchaud.

The future is bright, we have a lot of young, great people in this graduating class, and I look forward to seeing what their futures will bring.”
