Local golfers near the top entering final round of Junior Golf Championships

The final round of the 2025 Saskatchewan Junior Golf Championships is today (Thursday) in Lloydminster.

After two rounds of play, golfers from Humboldt, Prince Albert and North Battleford find themselves in contention in their respective divisions.

Tee times started at 7 a.m. this morning with the final groupings set to tee off at 12:10 p.m.

In the Jr. Women’s U15 category, Battleford’s Natalie Maunula has maintained her third-place spot, with rounds of 98 and 102. She started her third and final round at 11:20 a.m.

As for the Jr. Men’s U15 category, it is littered with local golfers making a run for the title. Humboldt’s Tylan Wallin began the day tied for fifth, with P.A.’s Hudson McDougall also finding himself inside the top ten at t-8.

North Battlefords’ Hayden Solomko (t-11), P.A.’s Emmett McDougall (t-11), and Humboldt’s Jack Ellis (14th) round out the top 15.

Meanwhile, five golfers from Prince Albert find themselves a little bit down the leaderboard in the Jr. Men’s U19 group, as Greyson De Padua (t-26), Burton Addison (t-29), Kaleb Cournoyer (32nd), Ronan McDougall (t-33), and Grady McDougall (t-33) look to finish off their tournaments on a high note.

And finally, in the Jr. Men’s U17 category, Prince Albert’s Wyatt Nelson is fifth, Battlefords’ Shae Maunula and Finn Silver are sixth and t-10, respectively, and Humboldt’s Tryce Wallin is t-7.

Three National quota spots can be earned on the junior women’s side later today, while four spots can be earned on the junior men’s side.

The Canadian Junior Women’s Championship is scheduled for August 13-16, 2025, at Saint-Marie (Club de golf), Saint-Marie, Quebec. The Canadian Junior Men’s Championship is set for Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club- Bathurst, NB, from August 12-15, 2025.
