Tips on how to keep livestock safe

RCMP in the province are offering some tips to help keep your livestock safe.
Livestock Investigator Corporal Owen Third says the creation of the position gives producers someone to help them if they have any concerns involving livestock.
He says handshake deals are a thing of the past, and it’s vital to have proper contracts in place when buying or selling livestock.
According to Hugh Garrett of Livestock Services of Saskatchewan, it’s important for farmers to have their cattle branded, do their due diligence, check on their cattle on a regular basis, and watch for any suspicious activities.
