Mustangs commit Yellowknife forward
The Melfort Mustangs have added their third forward in the last week. The Mustangs announced on Monday (April 13) that they’ve committed Wesley Lizotte for the 2026/27 season.
Lizotte, a 17-year-old from Yellowknife, NT, has spent the last three years of his hockey career in Alberta. Most recently, he was a part of the Titans Hockey Union 18U club (Junior Prospects Hockey League), posting eight goals and five assists (13 points) in 24 games.
The six-foot-seven, 231-pound, 2008-born forward has also spent time with the Lethbridge United 18U organization (JPHL) and the Lethbridge Hurricanes U18 AAA program in the Alberta Elite Hockey League.
“We’re excited to announce the commitment of Wesley Lizotte for the upcoming season,” said the Mustangs in an Instagram post. “Please join us in welcoming Wesley and the Lizotte family to the Melfort Mustangs.”
