Two fatalities in Highway 40 collision near Blaine Lake

Two men, ages 28 and 27, both from the La Loche area have been identified as the victims in a fatal traffic accident that occurred Friday, April 17.

It happened on Highway 40 near Blaine Lake, about an hour southwest of Prince Albert. Blaine Lake RCMP received a report shortly after 11 p.m. that two SUVs had collided.

There were four occupant in the first SUV. Two passengers were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. Their families have been notified. A third passenger was taken to hospital by emergency services with injuries described as serious in nature. The driver in each SUV suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Blaine Lake RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
