Back Alley Tour continues to grow, celebrates 10 years

“There are a lot of cool and unique things here. It’s like a big-city event in a smaller community, and it is all about art appreciation in all its forms, which we didn’t really have in the neighbourhood to this extent before. It’s all about appreciating local talent, and since it’s just before fair weekend, a lot of people are back in the neighbourhood anyway. Some people who grew up here and moved away, and a lot of people who are on vacation and are making plans for the weekend, so this is kind of a nice kickoff to it.”

Artists include 3D creations, comics, silverware, metal work, glass blowing, and more.

“It’s probably double in size if I actually do all the counting of how many artists we have. I think we’re also in more of an ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ mentality because we have a method that works for everyone, so I see it staying pretty well the same these next 10 years. It’s about putting the artist first and what they like and what they want, and it tends to draw in more people that way,” Dancey concluded.

“We’ve also added food trucks and a little more in that way for options, but the music has always been a big part of it, and we know the musicians have a lot of fun at this too.”
