Major commitment to future CT services in Humboldt
A huge commitment toward future CT services in Humboldt.
The Lanigan & District Ambulance Association committed $1.2 million to the Humboldt District Health Foundation (HDHF) for the establishment of CT services at the Humboldt District Health Complex.
“It’s hard to describe our feelings,” HDHF Executive Director Lorrie Bunko told northeastNOW. “Initially we were in disbelief, and now excited but mindful that we are waiting for the Ministry of Health to officially approve us for a CT [scanner].”
Bunko said the Lanigan & District Ambulance Association is dissolving and wanted to ensure that advanced diagnostic imaging was provided in the Humboldt area. The endowment will await government approval for CT services, and the HDHF will not officially launch or activate a public fundraising campaign for those services until the Ministry of Health announces that Humboldt has been selected as a location.
