Man sentenced to time served after shooting on Shoal Lake Cree Nation

A Red Earth Cree Nation man has been sentenced to time served after an incident on Shoal Lake Cree Nation earlier this year.
34-year-old Billy Whitecap was sentenced on several counts but won’t have to spend any more time behind bars.
He was arrested and taken into custody in March after Carrot River RCMP were called about a shooting at Shoal Lake.
An injured man was found in a vehicle on Highway 55 and received serious injuries.
