The RCMP says officers seized more than 2,000 pounds of illegal cannabis during a traffic stop near Maple Creek earlier this month.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers with the police force’s roving traffic unit (RTU) stopped a vehicle on Highway 1 for an equipment violation back on Sept. 4.
“As part of their subsequent investigation, RTU officers located and seized approximately 1,928 pounds of dried cannabis, 56 pounds of hashish, and 15 litres of THC resin inside the vehicle,” the RCMP said.
Police said a 56-year-old man from Rosedale, B.C., is facing charges including possession of illicit cannabis for distribution and possession of an illicit cannabis derivative for distribution. (Image Credit: Submitted/Saskatchewan RCMP)
