Mustangs set for home-and-home with Melville, remembering Mark Odnokon

The Melfort Mustangs begin their second week of the SJHL season tonight when they play host to the Melville Millionaires.The evening’s contest will kick off a home-and-home set between the two clubs.
This weekend will mark the first two of four meetings on the year, as the pair battle it out in a ‘mini playoff series’.
“When you face the same club on back-to-back nights, especially home and away, it 100 percent feels like a little playoff set in the regular season. We know it’s going to be a good two games; it’s going to be physical, and both teams will be trying for all four points that are gonna be up for grabs, so it should be a great weekend,” said Mustangs forward Kelan Simmonds.
“Obviously, having the first game be at home is great for us. We really want to set the tone and get those first two points quickly to start, and then finish it strong on Saturday. They’re obviously a strong team; they work hard, and they have a good D zone. I think if we just capitalize on what we saw on film this week, then we’ll come away successful.”
