Hawks send defenceman to Bruins, acquire rights to Trojans forward
The Nipawin Hawks have made a trade with the Estevan Bruins. Nipawin has acquired the list rights to 2009-born forward Ramy Borowsky in exchange for 2008-born defenceman Chris Newell.
Borowsky is currently in his third season with the Tisdale Trojans, having produced four points (2G, 2A) through seven games this year. During the 2025/26 campaign, meanwhile, the Martensville native had 21 points (9G, 12A) in 44 games. As for his rookie season, the current 17-year-old registered 16 points (5G, 11A) in 44 regular-season contests, and an additional assist in three playoff matches.
In Newell’s case, the 18-year-old is in his first year of Junior A hockey, still searching for his first career point after three games played.
The Hawks are currently on a three-game-point streak with a 4-4-1 record through nine games. Next up for Nipawin is their lone match of the week, which comes at home on Friday when they play host to the visiting Yorkton Terriers.
