Shortage on shelves in midst of Co-op cybersecurity incident
A cybersecurity incident last week, affecting Co-Op cardlock locations across Western Canada, is also having an impact on peoples’ ability to buy groceries.
According to a statement from Federated Co-operatives Limited, the primary supplier for Co-op food stores, the incident is affecting some internal customer-facing systems which could impact the company’s inventory of certain grocery items. This was confirmed on Tuesday by Discovery Co Op, which serves the North Battleford area, and issued an update to its social media page.
“We apologize if we do not have the product or specific item you are looking for,” they said. “Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this incident.”
In turn Lake Country Co-Op also advised their Pharmacy App was down, and encouraged people looking to refill their prescription, to call the Marketplace Pharmacy.
