CFL Honour Roll

Logan Ferland named to CFL All-July Team

Aug 1, 2024 | 4:25 PM

Saskatchewan Roughriders’ right guard Logan Ferland is on the CFL Honour Roll.

The Melfort native was named to the CFL x Pro Football Focus All-July Team as the top-rated offensive lineman across all positions and teams.

“It’s an honour,” he told northeastNOW. “The credit really goes to the coaching staff and my teammates who make my job look easy. It’s definitely a testament to how hard we’re working as a team and I think this is a unit award not just a personal one.”

“There’s never one guy that’s doing his job, it takes all five or six linemen and the quarterback making us look good too. Everyone else too, the receivers and the running back in protection as well, it’s not just me out there, it’s all the guys and the credit goes to the team.”

Being recognized isn’t unfamiliar territory for Ferland as he’s been named the organization’s best offensive lineman the past two seasons.

He and the Riders are currently 5 and 2 on the season, with their only losses coming to the top teams in each division (Montreal and BC).

Ferland’s club is also a perfect 3 and 0 at home (Mosaic Stadium) in front of the Saskatchewan faithful.

“I’ve been really happy with how we’ve been playing, we’ve had to battle through a lot of adversity but I think we’ve done a good job with what we’ve been given. We continue to battle through injuries and different spots being taken, but that’s football and we’re doing a good job with it,” he added.

“We’re excited to be playing well in Regina, it’s home turf, so we definitely can’t be losing at home. That’s the place we protect and we’re just excited to get going.”

The Roughriders will welcome the lone winless team to town on Saturday as they take on the 0 and 7 Edmonton Elks.
