RCMP investigating theft of skid steer from business in Melfort

Melfort RCMP are looking for your help to solve a recent theft.

A John Deere skid steer parked behind a business on Saskatchewan Drive was stolen by a male suspect just before 11 pm on Oct. 31.

The suspect was able to start the 2007 John Deere 320 skid steer and drive it to the west, then turned around and drove it east from the business.

There were no attachments on the front arms of the skid steer, and the tires are a brighter colour of yellow than the machine itself. It was also missing two wheel nuts on one of its left-side tires.

Police believe the thief has experience operating skid steers as he was easily able to start the machine and drive it away. He may have already had a key in his possession that he used to start it.
