Local teams advance to provincials after 4A volleyball regionals

Three local northeast teams medaled at the 4A girls volleyball regionals held in Melfort on the weekend.

The hometown Comets edged the Tisdale Tornadoes two sets to one to win the gold medal.

The Tornadoes claimed silver.

The Nipawin LP Miller Bears beat Yorkton Sacred Heart two sets to one to win bronze.

Provincials will be held in La Ronge Friday and Saturday.

Melfort and Humboldt are in Group A at provincials, after Humboldt took third place at the regionals in North Battleford.

Tisdale and Nipawin are among the teams in Group B.
