Kotai, Coombs, Tait, McIlwain SJHL Players of the Month

The SJHL has revealed its Players of the Month list for the final month of 2024.

The SGEU MVP of the Month is Melfort Mustangs forward Reilley Kotai.

The league-leader in points had eight goals and four assists in eight games in December which were all Mustangs wins.

Melfort will take their 15-game winning streak into Friday’s home game against the Melville Millionaires.

Teammate Kristian Coombs was named the SaskTel Goalie of the Month.

Coombs was 7-0 in the month of December, finishing with a 1.57 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.

He has won 10 straight starts.

Ashton Tait of the Nipawin Hawks is the Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Month.

The 18-year-old winger had four goals and eight assists in eight games last month for the Hawks.

The SuperU Defenseman of the Week is Oakley McIlwain of the Humboldt Broncos, who netted four goals and five assists in eight games last month.
