Town of Nipawin issues snow removal update after Alberta Clipper

Jan 17, 2025 | 11:00 AM

The significant snowfall in Nipawin has led to the Town reminding residents of snow removal priorities.

A news release stated that crews were mobilized and working to clear streets and sidewalks following the Alberta Clipper that blew through the area Thursday night.

The Town said in the release that residents may experience delays in snow removal due to the volume of snow and the ongoing weather conditions.

“The Town appreciates the patience and understanding of all community members as crews prioritize clearing main roads, school zones, and high-traffic areas to ensure safety and accessibility,” the release said. They asked for patience and cooperation as they work to address “the challenging conditions.”

The Town vowed to update the community on the snow removal process through their website and their social media pages.

Business owners are reminded to clear the sidewalks adjacent to their properties. Residents should also do their best to avoid parking on the streets, if possible, to allow for proper snow clearing. The Town is also asking people to exercise caution when approaching snow removal equipment, and to give the operators room to maneuver.
