Mustangs take last game in Notre Dame, set franchise record for wins
The Melfort Mustangs made history twice on Sunday afternoon.
The team was in Wilcox for the regular season finale, which was also the last game in Notre Dame Hounds history.
The Mustangs won the game by a score of 4-2, giving them their 46th victory of the regular season, a new team record.
“What a great group of guys, every single day of practice they want to get better, and it shows. Getting the franchise record in wins is unbelievable, and it just shows the heart and character in the room. Obviously, the job’s not done, our focus is playoffs now, and our hope is to end up in Calgary, so we still got a lot of work to do,” said assistant coach Tye Scherger.
