Trojans win, Outback Thunder fall in Saskatoon

Wyatt Fleishhacker made 29 saves as the Tisdale Trojans shut out the Yorkton Kinsmen Maulers 1-0 in AAA hockey action Wednesday night.

Taren Erhardt’s first of the season was the lone goal of the night.

The 9-12-1-0 Trojans will host Regina Saturday and Sunday at the RECplex.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder fell 9-5 to the Saskatoon Westleys in a high-scoring affair in the Bridge City.

Carrot River fell behind 5-0 into the second until Nolan Holmen scored the first Thunder goal.

Kooper Wallington and Jaylen Knelsen then quickly made it 5-3 with back-to-back power play goals.

Kieran Hardle once again cut the deficit to two to make it 6-4, with the Westleys netting one more to make it 7-4 after two periods.

Saskatoon scored twice to make it 9-4 before Dylan Clarke closed out the scoring for Carrot River.

The Thunder will host the Saskatoon Royals Saturday night.
