Mel-Bex Award nominees announced

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for this year’s Mel-Bex Awards. 

The nominees for ‘Business of the Year 16 Employees and Over’ include Redhead Equipment, Ripley Ford, and Wapiti Valley Ski & Board Resort. 

Nominated in the ’15 Employees and Under’ category are FYI Doctors Melfort, Into the Weeds, Melfort Auto Body, Northeast Dental, Nutters, Plus Stuff Junction, Shark Ag, and Trail Tire. 

House of Monyq, Melfort Auto Body, Prairie North Co-op, Ripley Ford, and Thomas Motors are up for the ‘Community Involvement – Business Award’. 

Up for the ‘Community Involvement – Non-Profit Award’ are Communities in Bloom, Melfort & District Museum, NEOSS, Plus Industries, and Rotary Club Melfort. 

‘Customer Service Award’ nominees include Plus Stuff Junction, Prairie North Co-op, Ripley Ford, Sauder’s Home Hardware, and Wapiti Valley Ski & Board Resort. 

Both Dress Well with Gisele and Northeast Dental are up for the ‘Property Appearance Award.’ 

‘Heritage Award’ nominees are NEOSS, Plus Industries, Plus Stuff Junction, Prairie North Co-op, and Royal Canadian Legion. 

The nominees in the ‘New Business’ category include Backyard Outfitters, House of Monyq, New Era Ag, Ripley Ford, and Sinister Studios. 

‘Agriculture Achievement Award’ nominees are Croft Grain, Redhead Equipment, and Shark Ag. 

A familiar name has been chosen as Melfort’s ‘Citizen of the Year.’ 

Longtime Melfort Mustangs Coach and General Manager, and co-owner of Puetz Blevins Financial Group Trevor Blevins has been chosen for the honour this year. 

The ‘Junior Citizen of the Year’ is Mikayla Kaminski. 

The Mel-Bex Awards Gala will be held in the CJVR Performing Arts Theatre at the Kerry Vickar Centre March 21. 

Tickets are still available for the event and can be purchased through the Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
