The Melfort Mustangs continue to add pieces for their future, marking their sixth commitment in the past month.

Daniel Skalicky, an 18-year-old defenceman from Stony Plain, Alta., is the newest member of the organization.

A Western Hockey League draft pick of the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2023, Skalicky has had an impressive past two seasons with HC Edmonton’s 18U squad.

Over 52 regular-season games, the 2008-born blueliner has posted 26 goals and 28 assists, good for 54 points, over just 52 games.
