Broncos acquire KIJHL goalie

The Humboldt Broncos have added a goaltender to their roster via a trade.

The Broncos have acquired Gibson Horne from the Princeton Posse of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL), soon to be the British Columbia Hockey Conference (BCHC).

Horne, a 2006-born, Lac-des-Arcs, Alta. native, spent the past two seasons in Princeton. This past seasons he posted an 11-6 regular-season record through 20 contests, to go with a 3.14 goals-against-average and a .900 save percentage. In the postseason, meanwhile, he went 15-3-5 in 23 matches, recording a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage.

As for his 2024/25 campaign, the six-foot-one, 174-pound, 19-year-old had an 11-5-1 record in the regular season to go along with a 2.37 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage. In said playoffs, Horne suited up just three times, producing a 1 and 2 record, a 2.25 goals-against-average and a .936 save percentage.
