Worker injury leads to fine against Wadena company

A Wadena company has been fined after a worker was injured earlier this year. 

Mallard Diversified Services Inc. pleaded guilty in Wynyard Provincial Court July 22 to one violation of The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020. 

They were charged with failing to ensure a portable ladder was secured against accidental movement during use, resulting in a worker being seriously injured. 

The Court imposed a total fine of $8,000, while two charges were withdrawn.
