Trojans, Outback Thunder fall on season-opening weekend

The Tisdale Trojans dropped both games of their debut weekend in the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League.

Tisdale opened with a 6-3 loss Friday night in Moose Jaw.

The Winmar Warriors built a 4-0 lead before Grayden Little scored the first Trojans goal of the 2026-27 campaign in the second period.

Camryn Aebig and Millar Anderson added goals in the third.

Karter Hilbig stopped 33 of 39 shots for the Trojans.

Moose Jaw blanked the Trojans 8-0 on Saturday.

Hilbig made 9 saves in 12 shots, and Kohen Morrow blocked 30 of 35 shots sent his way.

Tisdale visits the Prince Albert Mintos on Thursday.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder dropped their season-opener, 6-2 to the Saskatoon Quakers.

Carter Corbett opened the scoring for Carrot River, but the Quakers rallied to lead 2-1 after the first.

They opened a three-goal lead in the second before Lukas Tuplin made it 4-2.

Saskatoon closed out the game with a pair of goals to seal the victory.

Hunter Nakonechny stopped 35 shots in the loss for the Outback Thunder, as they head to Martensville to face the Chiefs Wednesday night.
