Conservation Officers investigate moose, fish waste
Conservation officers are hunting a person who left a moose carcass to waste, and are taking an individual to court over roughly 100 of fish found dead on ice.
The moose was discovered skinned 11 kilometers north of Brancepeth, near Coxby Road, southeast of Prince Albert after conservation officers received a tip through their Turn In Poachers line Jan. 21. Officers estimated the moose was shot during the evening of Jan. 20, or the early morning of Jan. 21.
“From what I understand, a 4×4 was used to drive out into the field and that was it. They didn’t collect the moose; they left it there,” Conservation Officer Kevin Harrison said.
Harrison asked anyone with information regarding the moose carcass to contact the Turn-In-Poachers phone line, or file a tip online.
