Three arrested after police pursuit near La Loche

Police have charged three men in connection to a vehicle pursuit near La Loche yesterday, Feb. 20.

The La Loche RCMP were advised by Alberta RCMP that a vehicle suspected of being used in a serious firearms complaint was travelling their way from Janvier, Alta.

Police located the vehicle on Highway 956 and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop for the attending officers. Police then used a tire deflation device to stop the car.

Danny William Larocque, 27, from Janvier, Alta. was arrested on outstanding warrants. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle being pursued by the police, resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and driving while disqualified. He remains in custody and is set to appear in La Loche Provincial Court tomorrow, Feb. 22.

Wesley Cardinal, 37, from Janvier, Alta. was arrested on outstanding warrants and was charged with obstructing a police officer. He will also appear in court tomorrow.

A third man from La Loche was arrested on outstanding warrants. He was released on a promise to appear with a charge of resisting arrest. He will appear in court on April 9. RCMP has not provided his name.
