Parkland, Cumberland College coalition finds president and CEO

Jun 28, 2019 | 4:58 PM

The Parkland College and Cumberland College coalition has announced its new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mark Hoddenbagh will take over the position, effective July 1, 2019. Board of Governors Co-Chair Corinna Stevenson said Hoddenbagh was a great choice.

“We’re really excited that Mark has agreed to lead the coalition,” Stevenson told northeastNOW.

Hoddenbagh spent a lot of time in the post-secondary system as he has a PhD in chemistry. He and his family also lived in Meadow Lake for a period of time where Hoddenbagh was employed with the pulp industry. They have lived all over Canada, but love Saskatchewan and its people and are happy to return home, according to Stevenson. She said he will bring some great skills to the coalition.

“Mark loves the college system,” Stevenson said. “He has a lot of exciting ideas and experience in helping remote communities with workforce training.”

Stevenson said once Hoddenbagh officially starts, it will be a bit of a learning process at first.

“His first priority will be a listening tour to get to know our great staff and to get to know the leaders in our communities,” she said. “Those key employers that we want to engage and begin moving forward with.”

She continued on to say they are excited for Hoddenbagh to bring his passion for post-secondary education with them on their journey as a coalition.
