Mustangs down Klippers before week long break
The Melfort Mustangs have now gone 11 straight Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League games without a regulation loss.
On Friday, Oct. 11, the Mustangs got a 3-2 home win against the Kindersley Klippers. The win came after the Mustangs lost in a shootout on Wednesday, Oct. 9, a game where they had a two goal lead late. Defenceman Alex Rondeau said this time they kept the pedal to the medal.
“Last game we kind of shut it down once we got the lead and we kind of stopped playing,” Rondeau said. “Tonight we just kept playing hard and that’s why we got it done.”
The first period of the contest went back and forth with both teams getting some solid chances, but nobody could get on the scoresheet.
