Kinistino School hosting family dance fundraiser for the school playground

Kinistino School will be rocking Saturday night for a good cause.

The Family Dance Fundraiser will be held at the sport complex gym, starting at 7 p.m.

The event is raising money for the Kinistino School playground.

“We were notified that our main structure for our playground is going to need to be replaced due to safety concerns in the near future,” teacher Sheldon Larson said adding the school has been fundraising for a year.

They look to raise about $100,000, and so far have brought in almost $20,000 by holding smaller events.

“We’re hoping that this is going to be a bigger one that will draw in more people from the community,” he said. “There [are] a lot of silent auction items that have been donated and will be available at the dance as well.”

Entertainment will be provided by the band That Guy.

The event is licensed by the Kinistino Kinsmen, and a midnight lunch will be provided by the Kinistino School Community Council.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, and can be purchased through any Kinistino School teacher, and at the door.
