Pasquia Place welcoming back residents following storm damage repairs
More than two months have passed since a vicious storm damaged the Town of Carrot River, including Pasquia Place.
Residents were evacuated within three hours of the storm, as the assisted living facility lost nearly 2,000 square feet of its roof and suffered indoor damage.
After three months of living with family and friends, residents will be welcome back to their homes at Pasquia Place on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
“Our folks who are used to the routine here were unfortunately ripped from their family in a short period of time, because we have become a family here at Pasquia Place,” Manager April Wouters said. “Friends and families of our tenants came to their aid very quickly, but their homes are not designed to have seniors with special needs in them. People have had to rearrange travel, sleeping arrangements, all sorts of things, but they’ve done so willingly without hesitation. The ones who are coming back are relieved to be back home and I think it’ll be a positive thing for everybody.”
