SJHL release schedule for 2021/2022 season, Hawks and Mustangs to meet 10 times
Excitement continues to build for the 2021/2022 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season.
The league announced the full schedule for the coming season on Monday, July 12. Each team will play the usual 58 games, with two being in Warman at the SJHL Showcase.
The Melfort Mustangs and Nipawin Hawks will both open their seasons on Sept. 24 as the Mustangs host the Flin Flon Bombers. The Hawks will head to La Ronge that same night to take on the Ice Wolves. Melfort will visit Flin Flon the next night, while Nipawin will host the Ice Wolves.
The Mustangs and Hawks meet for the first time on Oct. 1 in Nipawin, followed by meeting number two of the year in Melfort the following night. The rivals will meet eight other times throughout the season including Dec. 17,18, 31, and Jan. 1, and 29, as well as Feb. 19. The clubs will wrap up the season series with a regular season finale on March 4 and 5.
