Umperville sentenced on stolen vehicle, fleet from police charges
A 26-year-old man charged in relation to a stolen vehicle in Birch Hills in June has been sentenced.
Andrew Umperville was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, break and enter to a residence, resisting arrest, and flight from a peace officer.
The charges stem from June 6, 2021 when Melfort RCMP received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from Birch Hills.
The vehicle was located in Kinistino but RCMP were unable to stop it as the vehicle fled from police. The vehicle was located a short time later on the James Smith Cree Nation where the suspect was taken into custody.
