More Than Your Appliance Store

When a local business is a dream come true for its owner, customers know they can expect the very best selections, quality and service.

This is the case with Northeast Appliance Plus in Tisdale.

Owner/operator, Teana Deforest-Enderson is passionate about her business which opened just three years ago and is already expanding their lines of stock to meet customer demands.

They feature the very best lines: Electrolux and Frigidaire for the kitchen and laundry, Electrolux vacuums; Yorkdale and Kingsdown mattresses, made in Canada with all Canadian materials for top quality mattresses and, most recently, Napoleon Grills for every imaginable barbeque need.

To further meet the needs of their community, Northeast Appliance Plus offers products at every price point, provides warranty work in-house on any item bought in store and they happily order in parts for clients who want to do their own repairs.

“I was working at the Sears store for about 5 years before I opened here,” says Deforest-Enderson. “When things started looking negative with Sears, I went to the guy I was working for and told him I see an opportunity to be an independent retailer. He offered me the choice to continue with Sears, or to buy the building. I decided to be an independent retailer and bought this building. Sears went out of business a year and a half later. So, I made the right choice and I love what we offer here.”

With a father well-versed in business, Deforest-Enderson and her dad sat down, made a business plan and the dream for Northeast Appliance Plus began. With his backing and help, she opened her store on Main Street Tisdale three years ago.

With everything on the line for her, Deforest-Enderson decided to take this chance and do everything to make her business a success.

Aside from simply owning and operating her business, she does all the ordering, she and her husband make the deliveries and do the warranty work in-house.

“From the beginning, my husband and I knew that service was a critical component of business here. When I worked at Sears and warranty work had to be sent away, that was a major downfall, so before we opened here we took the three day course in Calgary to be Authorized Technicians to complete the warranty work right here in town,” she says.

Walking into the store, you will see a large selection of vacuums, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, freezers, cooktops, wall oven, washers, dryers, barbeques and in every price point. There is even a live, working kitchen in the store.

This means that Northeast Appliance Plus can provide everyone from those starting out with a small budget to those making their biggest dreams come true.
