Mustangs prepared for second straight meeting with Terriers
When the puck drops on Saturday, Nov. 20, it will have been seven days since the Melfort Mustangs last played an SJHL game.
That game was a 2-0 win over the Yorkton Terriers at the Northern Lights Palace. On Saturday, it’ll be the same Terriers that will this time host the Mustangs. Mustang forward Tye Scherger said they’re prepared to see the Terriers again.
“Playing them back-to-back we know exactly what they’re like, and we know exactly what to expect,” he said. “So, we just have to come with a game plan and get ready for Saturday.”
The Mustangs are currently 12-7-1-1 on the season, good for fifth place in the SJHL heading into Friday night, where Melfort has been idle. However, Melfort is 4-5-1 over their last 10 hockey games, part of which could be credited to the injury bug that has hit the Mustangs a few times this year.
