Sask. riders sweep the podium at Elk Ridge PBR event
It was a Saskatchewan dominant competition in the ‘8 Seconds At The Ridge’ Touring Pro Division event in Elk Ridge this past weekend, as five competitors were native to the province.
The 20-year-old Abbey, Sask. product, Blake Smith brought home first place with the help of his first 90-point performance. The victory moves him into first place in the PBR Canada standings where he now sits 18.5 points ahead of Lonnie West (Cadogan, AB).
Three-time PBR Canada Champion and Yellow Grass, Sask. native Aaron Roy collected the silver medal in the event while Meadow Lake product and reigning PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk claimed bronze.
Rounding out the top five was Kellfield, MB rookie Karson Turel who finished fourth, and Bengough, Sask’s Tyson Thue who finished fifth.
