Day 5 of competition begins for Team Saskatchewan at the Winter Games
Team Saskatchewan added a couple more medals to its haul following Day four at the Canada Winter Games in PEI.
The province’s flagbearer, Luca Veeman took silver in the men’s 1,500m speedskating while Serena Dallaire won bronze for the women’s 1,500m skate.
In men’s hockey, Prince Albert Raiders prospect Luke Moroz netted an assist as Team Saskatchewan beat the previously undefeated Quebec 5-2. With the win, Saskatchewan moves on to the quarter-finals which begin on Thursday.
Day five will be a busy day for Saskatchewan athletes including a northern athlete in Ringette. Tobi Albert of Sweetgrass First Nation and Team Saskatchewan play Nova Scotia on Wednesday.
