Mustangs embark on final home stretch and Awards Banquet
It’s about to be a busy, but exciting weekend for Melfort Mustang players, staff, fans, and families as the regular season winds down.
Melfort has just four games remaining on their schedule, two of which will be played on home ice this weekend. The La Ronge Ice Wolves come to town on Friday night in a matchup that will go a long way in determining home ice advantage in their likely first round series.
“This game against them is pretty important for [home ice advantage],” said defenceman Leith Olafson. “So, I think we’re pretty amped up for it.”
La Ronge holds a 3-2 season series lead, but the Mustangs sit one point ahead of their Sherwood Division rivals, and also hold one game in hand. Puck drop that night is 7:30 p.m.
