Mustangs commit Oilers forward for 2023/34 season

Mar 15, 2023 | 2:03 PM

The Melfort Mustangs have announced that 2005-born forward, Nate Tillmanns, has committed to the blue and green, for the 2023/24 year.

The Edmonton product has spent this season with his hometown Junior Oilers in the Alberta U18 AAA ranks.

In 34 games, Tillmanns found the back of the net a total of seven times, while adding eight helpers for a total of 15 points.

“Nate is a big strong power forward that plays the game heavy and plays in the hard areas,” Mustangs head coach and general manager Trevor Blevins said. “His combination of size and skill will make him a great fit in the SJHL”

He and his Oilers club were also at the Circle K Classic this winter, where in six contests, he scored once and added an assist as the Oilers made it to the C Final.

Meanwhile, during the 2021/22 season, Tillmanns played for the South Side Athletic Club U18 AA squad.

He was second on the team in scoring that year with 37 points, while his 20 goals led the team.

Melfort begins their first round of the SJHL playoffs when they host the La Ronge Ice Wolves, this Friday, for game one.
