Town of Nipawin looking to fill open board positions

Dec 15, 2023 | 4:39 PM

Residents in Nipawin have a chance to give back by joining one of a number of boards and committees.

The Town of Nipawin is looking for volunteers who may have interest in becoming representatives on several boards. That includes the Nipawin & District Living Forestry Museum, the Nipawin & District Regional Park, Nipawin Library, and the Wapiti Regional Park.

There is also a position available to be a Nipawin representative on the Wapiti Regional Library Board.

Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Sorensen told northeastNOW the individuals chosen would represent council on those boards.

“People can just contact us here at the town office, we have a form to fill out, and then council considers all of the expressions of interest at their first council meeting in January,” Sorensen explained.

Anyone interested in serving on one of those boards and committees can phone the Town of Nipawin at (306) 862-9866 or by emailing townoffice@nipawin.com to get an Expression of Interest form.

Successful candidates “would go to committee meetings or board meetings, some are once a month and some might be quarterly,” Sorensen said. “We’re always looking for people who would like to volunteer and give back to the committee, and this is a great way.”
