Hawks add former Raiders on deadline day; in Flin Flon Friday
The Nipawin Hawks welcomed back a familiar face during the CJHL trade deadline and made a move for a forward to bolster their roster.
The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) club got a boost on their blueline with the return of Tre Fouquette.
The 19-year-old has spent the season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Warman, Sask. product was reassigned by the Brandon. Nipawin also traded for 2004-born Canwood, Sask. resident Dallyn Peekeekoot.
Peekeekoot’s rights were acquired from La Ronge for a player development fee. He was playing this year with the Hafford Hawks senior club. In 2022/23 with the Ice Wolves, the 19-year-old scored five goals and added five assists in 37 games. He also has 88 WHL games played. Hawks General Manager Tad Kozun said the deal will be a positive one if Peekeekoot finds his game in Nipawin.
