The 2024 SJHL/MJHL Showcase is now just two weeks away, and the rosters for the annual event have been announced.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will be sending a total of 60 players and six coaches, as the northeast is set to represent a significant percentage of said personnel.

Overall, between the Melfort Mustangs, Nipawin Hawks, and Humboldt Broncos, 23 players, six coaches and one trainer will attend the Showcase.

For the Mustangs in particular, they will send six of their guys to the U20 Vet Team 1, alongside their head coach Trevor Blevins, who will serve as the assistant coach under Battlefords North Stars coach Brayden Klimosko, who also happens to be a Humboldt native.

Four of their six will be returners, as Zac Somers, Ryan Duguay, Leith Olafson, and James Veene competed last year in some capacity, while Chase Friedt-Mohr and Aidyn Hutchinson will make their first appearances at the Showcase.

Meanwhile, the Hawks will send six of their players, alongside their head coach Tad Kozun, who will be dispersed amongst the three different squads.

Braxton Buckberger will join the Melfort bunch on the U20 Vet Team 1, whilst Liam McInnis and Damon Cunningham will play for the U20 Vet Team 2.

As for Kozun, he will be the assistant coach for the U18 Team, which will include three of his players in Finley Radloff, Ronan Buckberger and Landon Pappas.

Finally, the Broncos will have 11 of their players on the rosters, along with their head coach Scott Barney and their trainer Skip Deeg.
