With a few days left of the whitetail rifle season please remember to identify your target before pulling the trigger.

There have been a lot of mule deer being misidentified as whitetail in the past few days.

When identifying deer remember to look at more than just the antlers. The rump, colour of hide, body size, and the ears are all different characteristics that should help you identify the species and if you are unsure don’t take the risk and pull the trigger.

If you accidentally kill a mule deer you are legally required to call the TIP line at 1-800-667-7561 immediately, failure to do so will result in charges!
