Jim Pattison Broadcast Group acquires Melfort’s 105 CJVR and CK750
Two radio stations in Melfort have joined the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, parent company of northeastNOW.
The broadcast group announced its acquisitions of 105 CJVR and CK750 in Melfort Tuesday morning, and also acquired 89.5 The Drive in Chilliwack, B.C. and XM 105 FM in Whitecourt, Alta. The acquisitions, which are subject to CRTC approval, include the four radio licences previously held by Fabmar Communications Ltd. and all related assets.
“We’re very excited to have this opportunity to grow in markets that complement our other Western Canadian radio and television stations,” Jim Pattison Broadcast Group President Rod Schween said in a statement. “We are very enthusiastic to work with, and learn from, our new valued team members and local management.”
Also included in the deal were FabVision, a Saskatchewan-based outdoor signage business, and the online news portals mychilliwacknews.com, mytowntoday.ca, and yourtownnews.ca.
