One P.A. robbery suspect released on bail

One of four people charged in relation to several attempted robberies in the region was released on bail Thursday.

The charges stem from incidents on March 4, when the group allegedly robbed a Prince Albert gas station with a firearm, then travelled to Jansen and Spalding where they attempted further robberies. They were later arrested south of Ivermay.

Rikki Steinkey, 22, and 23-year-old Tonisha Fulton appeared in Melfort Provincial Court via video from Prince Albert custody on Thursday, March 14.

Fulton appeared via video when Judge Leslie Matsalla released her on bail.

Matsalla’s reasoning took Fulton’s release plan into account and noted she has a young child, is attempting to upgrade her grades, and has a place to stay at her aunt’s residence in Prince Albert. The release noted she has no criminal record history, although she was also charged with failure to attend court after a possession of firearms incident in Meadow Lake.

Matsalla acknowledged if Fulton is convicted, the charges of armed robbery and part to offence of robbery, could result in a four-year jail sentence.

Fulton’s next appearance in Melfort Provincial Court will be on Tuesday, April 9 for election and plea.

The two males who are charged in relation to the incidents, Brandon Peeteetuce and Dorion Loessl, will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Tuesday, March 26.

Rikki Steinkey had her bail hearing adjourned to March 21.
