Neiszner takes lead, Carlisle’s lead cut at Provincial Juniors
The leaderboards got a little bit of shuffling as round two has come to a close at the Saskatchewan Junior Golf Provincial Championships at the Nipawin Evergreen Golf Course.
Jace Carlisle remains the leader on the men’s side of the event, but not by as many shots as Tuesday. The Estevan native fired a three-under round yesterday, and then a 10-over round today to sit him at seven-over on the tournament. His four shot lead from Tuesday is now at one shot. Jayden Dudas of Estevan, and Griffin Wilson of Swift Current are the ones on his tail. There are a few others keeping it close as a total of eight golfers are within three shots heading into Thursday’s final round.
As for Carter Timmerman out of LeRoy, he improved on Tuesday’s position. After a 13-over, 85, he fired a stellar three-over, 75 round. That score was tied for the low round of the day. Timmerman is 13th heading into Thursday.
On the women’s side, there is a new leader. After firing a six-over, 78 round on Tuesday, Autumn Neiszner of Regina shot a four-over, 76 in round two on Wednesday. That sits her at 10-over par after two rounds. She is seven shots up on her next closest golfers, Lauren Fox of Creighton, and Brooklin Fry on Shell Lake.
