StoneGate update

StoneGate developer excited about new services coming to Melfort

Feb 27, 2020 | 1:57 PM

The StoneGate commercial site in Melfort is set to become even more active in the coming months.

The site developer, Avatex, is continuing to court businesses to the area on Highway 6.

The StoneGate site currently houses Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, Mark’s Work Wearhouse, Canalta Hotel, Boston Pizza, and McDonald’s.

Avatex sales manager Gord Dmytruk told northeastNOW the addition of McDonald’s has been a hit.

“It’s busy every day and has been a large draw from not only Melfort, but surrounding areas,” Dmytruk said.

He said the Melfort McDonald’s is one of the largest the company builds and it averages 40 to 50 cars at lunchtime.

“It’s been a great asset, not only to the site but also to, I believe, Melfort as a whole,” Dmytruk said.

There are other retailers that have signed on to StoneGate.

“We have a 6,500 square foot [Melfort] Liquor Loft locating on the property, we have a 2,500 square foot dentist [office] that’s coming into effect,” Dmytruk said.

He said there are other private and professional services coming to StoneGate. Some of the developments are also looking for potential franchisees.

“In Pet Planet I’m looking for a franchisee. They’re willing to come to this site, we just need a franchisee to step forward,” Dmytruk said.

He said the StoneGate development has really come to life over the past year.

“It’s great for the community, great for surrounding areas, and we just want to keep it going forward and capitalizing on all aspects as we can, and adding different businesses to the communities that we never had before,” he added.

Dmytruk has a list of StoneGate franchising opportunities available, and anyone interested can call him at 306-321-4829.

Avatex also has retail sites and projects in Warman and Edmonton, and built the Melfort Wellness Centre.
