The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is fighting a wildfire about 30 km west of Hudson Bay.

The Slash Fire started June 14 due to a lightning strike, according to SPSA Director of Communications Christopher Clemett.

He told northeastNOW the agency is responding with various equipment “including dozers, four helicopters, and 36 crew members.”

Clemett said progress is being made on the fire, and there is currently no risk to communities or infrastructure.
