4 Paws Games and Publishing celebrating fifth anniversary

Apr 15, 2021 | 3:56 PM

4 Paws Games and Publishing is marking its fifth anniversary with an online event on Sunday, April 18.

Vickianne Caswell is the owner of the Bruno-based business that publishes books, PC and mobile games, apps, and visual novel games.

The Facebook event begins at 2:00 p.m. and will include author readings and an open house.

“We hope anybody that is interested in publishing and learning more about us or our books will attend online,” Caswell said. “We wanted to do it in-person but unfortunately we can’t. I’ll do a little bit of talking about publishing and the business and answer any questions that anyone has.”

Colleen Morrison will have her book, Sweet Maggie Magnolia Goes to Mardi Gras, published by 4 Paws Games and Publishing read and Caswell will also be doing some readings at the celebration.

Caswell started the company after she had been publishing her own books since 2012.

“We were just going to publish our own books but then decided to start offering services for other authors out there that can’t afford the publishing costs or don’t know how to publish,” Caswell added. “Our first author came from Alberta. We have ended up with authors from all over the place. We have two U.S. authors and one from South Africa.”

Caswell decided to call the business 4 Paws Games and Publishing because her books have animals in them. She does the majority of the work for the company online from home to keep costs down but also receives help from her family and freelancers.

“I do almost everything,” Caswell said. “It’s a treat being able to help people get there books out there. There are so many great writers. They just need a little help or don’t know where to go.”
