Multiple Melfort Mustangs, Nipawin Hawks and Humboldt Broncos players have been named to Team SJHL for the 2026 Western All-Star Challenge.

The challenge, set to feature 40 of the top players born in 2008 or later from the SJHL and MJHL, will take place Nov. 2-4 in Martensville.

Mustangs

A pair of Melfort defencemen will compete in the event. Eric Grandberg and Xavier Doane, who have often been paired together on the Blue and Green backend, could see more time alongside one another with Team SJHL.

Neither has been away from the ice much, with Grandberg already producing two goals and two assists in 12 games, and Doane adding three assists in 13 contests.

Hawks

A Hawk duo will see the ice up front, as forwards Carson Park and Austin Mori-Goodman have been selected. Both are producing well over a point-per-game, as Park has four goals and 13 assists in just 10 games, while Mori-Goodman has added five goals and 11 helpers in 12 matches.

Additionally, while he is currently a member of the Melville Millionaires, Nipawin native Parker Salisbury will also be joining Team SJHL. A former Tisdale Trojan, the Mills forward has two helpers in 11 games this season.

Broncos

Humboldt has two pairs from their organization headed to the tournament. The first is a forward duo in Cody Farrell and Owen Chapman.

Farrell has been lighting it up, as he’s tied for the Broncos’ lead in points with 15 (8G, 7A) through just 12 contests. Chapman, meanwhile, has registered a goal and an assist through four meetings.

Humboldt’s next pair will be on the bench, as assistant coach Carter Hansen and equipment manager Skip Deeg will be joining the SJHL group.
